Central Networks SHE Competition

Exceptional environmental initiatives during the last 12 months gave the HASTE SHE team outstanding recognition at the Central Network Eon SHE awards.

The final of this years SHE competition hosted by Central Networks saw Ian Hopwood presenting the results of a fantastic year of reduction in HASTE’s Environmental footprint.

Judged by members of Eon and Central Networks board of directors, the HASTE submission alerted the panel of judges to all the environmental matters that had been worked on to minimise the carbon footprint of the company.

With almost a million miles a year the largest impact HASTE has is with its vehicles. Without affecting standards of service and service levels, a real achievement has been made to address the economy of the fleet.

Reduced emissions by the purchase of smaller and more efficient vehicles, safer and more efficient driving techniques, use of LPG or dual fuel vehicles, more efficient logistics and vehicle restriction, have all cumulatively combined to create a 30% reduction in the carbon impact which the company creates.

HASTE’s managing director, Iain Christie concluded with a reassurance that the company is committed to maintain the company initiatives, whilst maintaining the momentum of change for the better with all Health, Safety and Environmental issues.

Reaching the final was a great achievement considering this was the very first time that HASTE has been involved with the competition. Next year HASTE intends to be on the winner’s rostrum representing even more initiatives.
