St Marys Church, Buriton
Haste complete high specification lighting scheme

Since early March 2014, HASTE LTD electrical engineers have been working to install a new and innovative lighting scheme (including purpose-built fabricated fittings) to a very high specification. We have painstakingly worked to ensure there is no distraction from the asthetics of this 12th century building. We have also ensured that programming of works is sympathetic to the church’s busy programme of events and the end-result is spectacular.

We were required to design and install the wiring loom arrangements for the specialized light fittings. The fittings were delivered from the forge where they were manufactured and adapted and wired in the Haste workshop based in Steepmarsh near Petersfield.

Work was carefully scheduled to ensure minimal disruption to churches normal parish program. The tight schedule of works was completed to coincide with the Easter festival.

Our engineers were meticulous in ensuring strict adherence to the church’s electrical specification, and lighting architect’s instructions. MIC (mineral insulated cabling sometimes known as ‘pyro’) was utilised, careful planning of cables routes chosen to be as sympathetic to the building as possible.

Final preparation prior to the Easter week.

The finished product!

St. Mary's has a long history. There has been a church on this site since at least 1086 when the previous church was listed in the Doomsday Book. Today’s building had its origins in the late 12th century. More information can be found at the church’s website.
